On the 31st floor of the Aria Hotel located in the new City Center complex in the heart of the strip. I lived through the Lima Prieta quake of 89, and high up a hotel this felt bigger. A guest on the 51st floor though either a big quake or a plane hit the hotel. The hotel was swaying and I started hearing cracks, that’s when things got real. Guests rushed into the hall and we were all in shock.

I was sitting on the back patio and the furniture started shimmying and the water started sloshing around in the jacuzzi. I started running through the house saying earthquake earthquake to my husband who is out front with a friend. My husband said you're crazy there's no earthquake and his friend said look at my truck move. That's an earthquake. and then my husband said I don't feel any earthquake but I feel off-kilter kind of dizzy.
